Additional Ultrametabolism: The Simple Plan for Automatic Weight Loss Information

For many, losing weight is a never-ending struggle -- especially since our bodies are designed to keep weight on at all costs; it's a matter of survival. But a medical revolution is under way, showing us how to work with our bodies instead of against them to ignite the natural fat-burning furnaces that lie dormant within us. Drawing on the cutting-edge science of nutrigenomics -- how food talks to our genes -- Dr. Mark Hyman has created a way of losing weight by eating the right foods, which in turn sends the right messages to our bodies.

In this easy-to-follow eight-week plan based on each individual's unique genetic needs, Dr. Hyman explains how to customize your personal weight-loss program with menus, recipes, shopping lists, and recommendations for supplements and exercise. Ultimately, you will rebalance and stabilize your metabolism -- an UltraMetabolism -- to maintain weight loss and enjoy lifelong health.

What Customers Say About Ultrametabolism: The Simple Plan for Automatic Weight Loss:

Hyman on tv and had been looking for a different way of eating to be healthy and drop 5 lbs. Hyman recommends, I was eating way too many carbs, sugar and "empty" foods. I purchased the book after seeing Dr. This book was amazing. I cannot say enough great things about this book. I realized after reading & starting to eat the way Dr.

Even my horrific PMS symptoms have gone away.

Well it worked.

I read all labels when I grocery shop looking only for natural ingredients.

I don't have a specific health problem nor do I have a significant amount of weight to lose.

I now either eat no carbs or very little depending on the day.

I lost 5 lbs in the first 2 weeks and feel fantastic.

I love the fact that I'm never hungry and have tons more energy.

I've added good fats and got rid of all the "low" "no" fat foods in my house.

I recommend it to anyone who wants to keep their weight down or just wants to start feeling good.

One does not need to swallow sugar to enjoy it. Hyman was right on when he said that sugar is one of the two most inflammatory sources one can eat in one of his other books. I lost so much that one could see my ribs. that spoke of a diet that one can lose weight by not swallowing food but to just taste it and spit it out. When one chews gum one chews it, enjoys the flavor and then spits it out. I stayed off it for 6 years. Thirty two years ago I had to eliminate refined sugar from my diet for health reasons such as high and low blood sugar.

It was the only thing that I changed in my diet. I gradually lost weight. Dr. When I added refined sugar back into my diet the weight came back. Around 20 years ago I was standing in the check out line in a grocery store and read an article in a trash mag. I took that advise and applied it to my sugarless diet and I got the same results. I call this the " SWALLOW NO GUUUK DIET ". Swallow the good stuff and not the bad.

Inflammation in the intestines can cause obesity. It does not need to go down your esophagus to enjoy it. But for those 6 years I maintained the same weight. I did not exercise or change my lifestyle during the no sugar diet. Also, this will satisfy your sweet tooth. Don't do this in a restaurant(hee hee).

Norton L. were formed in the same way. Maxwell Maltz and Dr. Dr. All diets work - short term. "Your suggestions (ideal goals) must be made without effort if they are to be effective," he said. Our currently held beliefs, whether good or bad, true or false, were formed without effort, with no sense of strain, and without the exercise of "will power." Our habits, whether good or bad. Williams, psychiatrist, said recently that modern man's anxiety and insecurity stemmed from a lack of "self-realization," and that inner security can only be found "in finding in oneself an individuality, uniqueness and distinctiveness.

It has been amply demonstrated that attempting to use effort or will power to cure bad habits has an adverse rather than a beneficial effect. Funny how this research gets brushed under the carpet.Below is some additional info:Dr. Unfortunately emotions are the reason why 95% of people can't sustain weight loss. It follows that we must employ the same process in forming new beliefs, or new habits, that is, in a relaxed condition. Williams found the only way to sustain weight loss is to change your habits.one at a time (also see Robert Mikkelsen's book The Story of Big Belly Bob). Norton L. Emile Coue` The little French pharmacist who astonished the world around 1920 with the results he obtained with "the power of suggestion," insisted that effort was the one big reason most people failed to utilize their inner powers. Another famous Coue` saying was his "Law of Reversed Effort": "When the will and the imagination are in conflict, the imagination invariably will win."http://www.durbinhypnosis.com/maltz.htm

He also recommends drinking a few cups of his "detox broth", which you make yourself using a variety of fresh organic veggies of your choosing. I've been dieting since the age of 9, and have read more books on the subject of health, weight loss, and fitness than I can count. They're all pretty simple to prepare for anyone who cooks even a little. There's no counting calories, protein, or fat grams, and you don't have to cut out enitre food groups, like carbs.

I started the plan right after the holidays though, so I'm sure it was a shock to my body to go from egg nog and pecan pie to fresh fruits and veggies, plus I'm very obese [240 lbs], hence the dramatic weight loss. The first two weeks on the plan, you have to refrain from all potentially allergenic foods [peanuts, dairy, wheat, etc]. to give your body a break from anything that may be hard on your body; that you may be allergic to. I'm shocked that anyone would give this book 2 or 3 stars. Hyman's plan would be quinoa with peaches for breakfast, lunch would be black bean and avocado tacos on corn tortillas, salmon with spinach, brown rice, and vinegarette for dinner, and snacks are fresh fruit and raw nuts. There are lots of tasty recipes included, like coconut dal, cashew chicken, and lemon salmon.

Not to sound like some crazy informercial, but during the two week detox part, I lost 14 pounds. The author says you can expect to lose 9 to 11 pounds in the detox phase (mostly water weight, likely).

As you can see, the focus is on unprocessed foods, without refined sugar and saturated fat. "Ultrametabolism" offers great advice on how to "reboot" you body if you haven't been eating so well.

After that, I lost the typical 1 to 2 pounds a week. With all the health and diet books I own, this is the one I always recommend when friends and family ask what i suggest to help them eat better without the fad diets. The plan is essentially a whole foods lifestyle.

After the first two weeks of detox, you can slowly add things like organic dairy and whole wheat into your diet. A sample day on Dr.

Every time I start to veer away from healthy eating and get distracted by holidays, parties, etc., I always go back to this book to help me refocus and remind me of the basics of good eating.

I used bit and pieces of this info with my own exercise plan to loose my last 25 lbs. It does however give detailed information how the body uses different foods and what to avoid in your diet.

Yes. This audio is packed with good information but the plan is too extreme for most anybody to follow.

Its hard to take advice from someone who has never been overweight. you will lose weight if you eat like a caveman.

I think most people figured that out on their own. Worth it if you want to loose weight or just want to eat healthier.

and at age 50 I feel great at my desired weight.
